Why should I choose a RIA to be my investment advisor?

A RIA is the most secure and honest means by which you can get investment consultation. RIA’s provide fiduciary services in regard to investment advice, financial planning, and wealth management. RIA firms are obligated to work so that the best interests of the client are always preferred. When working with a RIA, there legally can be no undisclosed conflicts of interest, which puts our clients in the best position to receive as much return on their investments as possible. Our investors operate not on commission but on a set management fee. This means that as you do better, we do better.  You can trust our RIA’s to offer you sound guidance and manage your portfolios with integrity. Call now for a free consultation.

What is the difference between having an investment advisor who is a broker versus an RIA?

There is a huge difference between brokers and RIA’s. When brokers take on a new client, they receive a commission by taking a percentage of your investments before your funds are placed on the market. This type of investment advice is defined by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as being advice "for the purpose of making a sale only" and not unbiased investment advice. Unlike brokers, an RIA is trained and licensed to give you unbiased investment advice and charges a set management fee, not a commission, for their services. This helps take some of the guesswork out of investing. You know exactly how much of your money goes to your RIA and how much is put on the market. If your investment adviser is not motivated by commissions, you can be sure we have your best financial outcome in mind. In chaotic times like these, having an expert in your corner with unbiased and selfless motivation is more important than ever.

Are the RIA’s at Priority Financial Advisors registered?

Yes. One of the advantages of choosing a RIA over a broker or other investment advisor is that all RIA’s are certified by the SEC. This means that the RIAs here at Priority Financial Advisors have met initial and ongoing requirements set forth by the Commission. To be registered, an RIA must disclose investment styles, assets under management, fee structure, past disclosures and disciplinary actions, have passed the required exams and any potential conflicts of interest. This registration requires a very high level of transparency and accountability that benefits both the firm and the client.

Why do you put so much emphasis on your investment advisor's role as a fiduciary?

Not all investment advisors are fiduciaries, but all RIA’s are. By definition, a fiduciary is required to act in the best interest of his client, even above his own financial well-being. Here at Priority Financial Advisors, we are a RIA-only firm, which means we have a legal and ethical obligation to work in the best interest of your investments, not our profits.  Registered Investment Advisers (RIA) must take these duties seriously. Our investment advisors hold themselves to the highest ethical standards so that your money works for you, not for us. When you work with other investment advisors who aren’t fiduciaries, there is a risk that decisions will be made solely because they benefit the broker. Many advisors receive an up-front commission as their compensation. This means that you have less money for retirement and savings due to the type of advisor handling your assets. Our investment advisors always carry out our planning in such a way that we consider your needs and your needs alone, not how we can benefit from your wealth.

Why let a RIA manage my portfolio as my investment adviser?

All credible studies in this area show that managed portfolios perform, on average, twenty percent better than an unmanaged portfolio. When it is time for you to retire, you want to ensure that in planning for your future you have taken every precaution to grow your money at the highest rates possible. RIAs are held to incredibly high standards by the SEC. These investment advisors are certified and have the education to ensure a profitable return on your investments while being held accountable by a higher authority. The more accountability and experience your investment advisor has, the better off you are. The benefit of being a fiduciary and not a broker is that we work for you, bottom line. We evaluate risks, your goals, retirement timelines, and then go from there to garner the best possible return for your investments.

Which fund families do you use to build my portfolio as my investment adviser?

Priority Financial Advisors works with T. Rowe Price mutual funds to build your portfolio. When it comes to handing over your savings, it’s obvious that you want to work with a name you can trust. T. Rowe Price is arguably one of the finest fund families in the United States. With a huge array of investment options, you can trust your money to grow and serve you.

What regions do you serve as an investment adviser?
